10,000 euro compensation for a school student who was scared during an emergency landing

Kildare: The Circuit Civil Court has awarded €10,000 in damages to a schoolboy who was frightened by an emergency landing.

The Ryanair flight had to make an emergency landing after losing cabin pressure. Stefan, an 11-year-old schoolboy from Kildare who was there, is receiving compensation. He will be compensated when he reaches the age of 17. The alleged incident took place in July 2018, when he was travelling to Croatia with his parents on a flight from Dublin to Sadar Airport.

The plane was forced to make an emergency landing at Frankfurt Hahn Airport. Following the incident, he sought medical attention from a general practitioner at The Bridge Medical Centre in Newbridge. After being convinced of all these things, according to the Montreal Convention, it was decided to pay compensation to Stefan. Stefan’s mother filed a lawsuit on his behalf.
