“2024 T20 World Cup-Winning Indian Cricket Team Honoured in Grand Ceremony at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium”

The 2024 T20 World Cup-winning Indian cricket team was celebrated in a grand felicitation ceremony at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) awarded the team ₹125 crore in prize money. Key players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Rahul Dravid, and Jasprit Bumrah expressed their gratitude on the podium. The players also interacted with fans, handing out signed balls and taking selfies.

Upon arrival, the team received a hero’s welcome and travelled to the ITC Maurya, where Rishabh Pant carried the trophy inside. They met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence for an interaction and breakfast.

Earlier in the day, the team participated in a victory parade from Marine Drive to the Wankhede Stadium, where thousands of fans lined the streets to celebrate their triumph. Despite delays caused by the crowd, the players were visibly emotional as they made their way through the throngs of supporters.

The parade and ceremony were a fitting end to India’s victorious campaign, having defeated South Africa by seven runs in a thrilling final at the Kensington Oval in Barbados.
