35 needed off final over: Irish club cricketer hits 6 sixes to win title clash

A bowler taking a hat-trick or a fifer, a batsman scoring a double century, or a batsman smashing six sixes in an over are all rare and spectacular moments in cricket.

But one such classic incident occurred on Thursday during a club cricket match in Ireland between Northern Irish club Cregagh and Ballymena.

Ballymena needed 35 runs to win in the final over of LVS Twenty20 Trophy final, and it seemed like Cregagh would have an easy win. But, leaving everyone stunned, John Glass smashed six sixes in the final over to help his team to a historic victory.

The stand-in skipper Glass was named the Man of the Match, for his power-packed 87-run innings.

Ballymena and Glass had another reason to celebrate as his older brother Sam bagged a hat-trick in the first innings.
