700 job vacancies, join the Irish Water Authority…

Dublin: The Irish Water Authority has announced the opening of 700 nationwide job opportunities, marking what they describe as the largest recruitment drive in the authority’s history. The authority has indicated that these new positions will be filled imminently.

The recruitment drive offers enticing packages, including competitive salaries, benefits, and comprehensive job training. Vacancies span various sectors, such as front-line operations, science and engineering, administration, communications, management, and IT. Positions range from plant caretakers to engineers, office personnel, and management roles. In Dublin, salary ranges vary, with positions such as Drinking Water Compliance Technical Lead, Investment Portfolio Technical Lead, Summer Intern in Engineering, and Leakage Detection Team Lead offering salaries ranging from €45,312 to €67,968 annually. Senior craft workers can expect to earn between €37,170 and €55,754 per year.

Last year, the authority assumed management responsibilities for all public water services, which were previously overseen by 31 local authorities across the country. Employees working in water services within local authorities have been offered the option to transfer to the semi-state government body, with the opportunity to continue their employment within local authorities if they prefer.

The recruitment drive extends opportunities to professionals, tradespeople, graduates, and skilled workers alike. Don O’Driscoll, Security Director, highlighted the authority’s interest in Irish nationals working abroad who seek a better work-life balance and are eager to return home. The authority aims to make significant advancements in the water supply sector as part of its strategic objectives.

The authority said those interested in the job should visit https://www.water.ie/about/careers/ to apply for vacancies in their area.
