A 29-year-old woman complained that an unknown person had misused her passport number in Ireland

Mumbai: The Mumbai Samta Nagar Police have launched an investigation into a young woman’s complaint that her passport has been misused in Dublin. According to the complaint, an unknown person used her passport number to make a hotel reservation in Dublin. This 29-year-old woman is stunned to discover a hotel bill for more than one lakh rupees in her name.

For the past three years, the girl has been studying and working in the Netherlands. Her parents live in Mumbai. She arrived in India for visa-related matters on November 10. While she was at home in Mumbai on December 1, the woman received an email from the hotel.

A bill for Rs. 105,000 was received along with a thank-you note for staying at a hotel in Dublin, Ireland. The young woman was shocked to see this and contacted the phone number listed in the email. The hotelier responded that the online reservation was made using the woman’s passport number from November 27 to December 1.

In her complaint, the woman stated that her identity was misused in Ireland. The woman said that she learned about it when she received the bill from the hotel.

Visa stamping was done between November 25 and December 1 through VSF Global for higher studies in the UK. The woman had not been there all this time. The passport was issued in Mumbai for UK visa stamping. The firm has confirmed that they handle the visa application’s administrative and non-judgmental aspects. They also stated that they were unable to comment on the case without specific details.
