A teen of Indian origin was stabbed to death in a school parking lot in Canada

Police in Canada’s British Columbia province reported an 18-year-old Indian-origin youngster was stabbed to death in a dispute in a high school parking lot. According to the report, he was stabbed by another youngster, although the victim was not a student at the school, according to the principal.

The victim was named as Mehakpreet Sethi, who was stabbed in the parking lot at Tamanawis Secondary School in Surrey on Tuesday by a 17-year-old following a quarrel between the two, according to the Vancouver Sun newspaper.

“At this point, it is believed that the suspect and the victim knew each other and that this was an isolated event,” Sgt. Timothy Pierotti of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team was cited as saying in the article.

Witnesses recognised and arrested the 17-year-old suspect.

Cpl. Vanessa Munn, a spokesman for Canada’s national police department, said the attack was reported shortly after noon.

“Police came within minutes and began life-saving efforts right away,” Munn added.

“The 18-year-old victim was rushed to the hospital, but despite all attempts to revive him, he has succumbed to his injuries,” was quoted in the report as saying.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has asked students who observed the tragic brawl to come forward with any information they may have.
