Dublin: A recent survey conducted by a recruitment agency reveals that one-third of Irish workers are waiting to cross the sea in search of their dream job. They give various reasons for leaving their home country, such as a lack of pay and the inability to find a job of their choice.
According to a survey of more than 1,000 people in the country, 32 percent are ready to go abroad in search of their dreams.
One-third of workers dislike their job. A quarter of employees say they dislike their company because they are underpaid. 82 percent of workers in Ireland are looking for the job they want. Only 38 percent have found their dream job, according to the survey. 22% are still looking for work.
People (29%) cited financial factors as a major barrier to landing their dream job, with 32 percent saying they would even take a pay cut to get the job.
Everyone’s top priority is a stable income. More than half of them want a positive work environment and job satisfaction. 27 percent of the workers say that they work in a toxic environment.
According to the recruitment firm, one out of every ten people wishes they could work only four days a week. Catherine Keating, a Matrix recruitment consultant, stated that workers’ perceptions of work had shifted over the last two years.
According to the survey, the majority of people want to maintain a work-life balance and want flexibility in their work. Workers value benefits such as free lunches, sleeping pods, gym memberships, and other perks.
