Aldi Unveils Ambitious Plan to Add Over 70 Jobs in Galway Ahead of Busy Spring Season

Aldi has announced plans to create over 70 new jobs in County Galway as part of a nationwide recruitment campaign ahead of the busy spring season. With 11 stores in the county since its first opening in 2000, Aldi is also set to add over 40 positions in Mayo and 20 in Offaly.

Recruitment is ongoing across the country for various roles, including positions at new stores and existing vacancies. The company is urging interested individuals to apply promptly, reflecting its expansion efforts and increased demand in preparation for the upcoming spring season.

This hiring initiative follows Aldi’s commitment to adopting the recommendations of the Living Wage Technical Group in 2024. Starting from February 1, the starting rate for store assistants and selectors will increase to €14.80 per hour. Aldi is the first supermarket in Ireland to adopt the Living Wage recommendations in 2024, reinforcing its dedication to its nearly 5,000 employees and its commitment to offering market-leading pay rates.

Brian O’Shea, HR Director at Aldi Ireland, emphasised the company’s dedication to providing exceptional products and services, along with creating a rewarding and supportive environment for employees. Aldi places a strong focus on employee well-being, offering comprehensive benefits and dedicated well-being support to new recruits. The company also prioritises career progression opportunities, with initiatives such as the Women in Leadership Programme aiming to enhance opportunities for women to advance into leadership roles.

Aldi, with 161 operational stores in Ireland, continues to be a leader in the supermarket industry, receiving the IBEC KeepWell Mark for its efforts in promoting employee well-being.
