Dublin: An Post has advanced its final posting dates for Christmas parcels, citing capacity pressures following the collapse of Fastway Couriers. Parcels within Ireland and the UK must now be sent by December 16th, while the deadline for Europe is December 12th. Shipments to the US, Australia, and other long-haul destinations must be posted by December 4th.
The revised deadlines apply to both business and personal customers as weekly parcel volumes are expected to reach three million in the run-up to Christmas.
An Post spokesperson Anna McHugh said the organisation is doing all it can to support increased demand, particularly from SMEs affected by Fastway’s closure, but noted it cannot accommodate all large new customers.
