Argentina will host the Under-20 World Cup in 2023, replacing Indonesia, which was dropped by FIFA, the international football governing body said.
After the Argentinian Football Association (AFA) filed a second proposal and a FIFA delegation examined the South American country last week, the FIFA Council Bureau announced the decision on Monday.
According to Xinhua, Argentina will host the FIFA U20 World Cup from May 20 to June 11, marking the first time the tournament has been held in Argentina since 2001.
The FIFA U20 World Cup official draw will take place on April 21 at FIFA’s headquarters in Zurich.
