Baby Found Safe After Car Theft, Suspect Still at Large

Dublin: A five-month-old baby girl, who was inside a stolen vehicle, has been safely recovered in Dublin city centre. Around 1:50 p.m., Gardai received a report that a silver Nissan Qashqai, with registration 10-D 21328, was stolen from Mountjoy Square West by an unknown individual. Authorities swiftly issued an alert, launching a city-wide search.

The stolen vehicle was located by a Garda officer on patrol in North Richmond Street, with the infant found unharmed. While the child was in good health, officials noted initial concerns about her safety, prompting the earlier activation of a child rescue alert, which has since been cancelled.

The suspect, described as a middle-aged white man wearing dark clothing and a baseball cap, abducted the child while she was in the backseat of the car. Gardai have urged anyone with information regarding the vehicle or suspect to contact 999 or 112 and advised the public not to approach those involved.
