Cannabis worth €7 million seized by Revenue and Garda

A case has been registered against two men in connection with the smuggling of illicit drugs in a container from Spain through the Dublin Port.

A total of 352 kilograms of herbal cannabis was seized in a joint operation by Revenue Customs officials and Garda members.

Officials say the seized cannabis is worth more than €7 million.

The 31-year-old arrested in connection with the seizure has been acquitted and two men between the ages of 47 and 49 will appear in court today, Garda said.

A file will now be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
