Chance of heavy rain; Yellow Alert in 11 counties

DUBLIN: The Met Éireann has issued a yellow alert in 11 counties in Ireland due to the possibility of heavy rain.

In counties such as Connacht, Longford, Louth, Westmeath, Meath, Cavan and Monaghan, the Yellow Alert will be in effect from 9pm tonight until 9pm on Tuesday.

Met Éireann warns of heavy rainfall of 30 to 50 mm, which could cause flooding in low-lying areas.  

Meanwhile, heavy rains are expected across Ulster tonight. Unusually, the atmosphere will be cloudy.

In addition, Met Eran predicts low temperatures of 0 to 4 degrees in various parts of the country. Heavy snowfall is also expected in some areas.
