Covid-19: Ireland has recorded 188 new cases with no further deaths

New 188 Covid cases have been confirmed in Ireland. No new deaths were reported.

A total of 33,121 cases have been confirmed and 1,792 Covid-19 deaths have been reported, the health department said.

Of the cases confirmed today:

  • 96 are men / 90 are women
  • 71% are under 45 years of age
  • 36% are confirmed to be associated with outbreaks or are close contacts of a confirmed case
  • 19 cases have been identified as community transmission

The capital recorded 76 new cases. Of the remaining cases, 25 in Cork, 21 in Donegal, 16 in Kildare, 13 in Galway, 7 each in Roscommon and Waterford. The rest 23 cases across 12 counties.

The Acting CMO Dr. Ronan Glynn said that solidarity and cooperation are essential to prevent the spread of the disease and that to support each other.

“Encourage your family and friends to heed the public health advice. Now more than ever, we need to work collectively. Our individual actions count on a population level.”
