Cricket world wishes Kapil Dev a happy birthday

New Delhi: Kapil Dev, the captain who won India’s first Cricket World Cup title, turns 62 today. The Kapil-led Indian team, nicknamed the Devils, won the World Cup for the first time by defeating the mighty West Indies in the 1983 World Cup.

Many people congratulate Kapil today. Sachin Tendulkar, BCCI, Harsha Bhogle and Gujarat Cricket Association all congratulated the player.

Kapil Dev, one of the best all-rounders in the world, was recently hospitalized due to chest pain. The player later recovered from his illness and returned to normal life.

He has scored 5248 runs and taken 434 wickets in 131 Tests for India. Kapil, who played 225 ODIs for India, scored 3783 runs and took 253 wickets.
