Dubai: Superstar Cristiano Ronaldo gets new recognition. Cristiano Ronaldo named nominee of the century at the Globe Soccer Awards.
Ronaldo won the Player of the Year award for the 20 years from 2001 to 2020. Ronaldo received the award at a ceremony in Dubai.
Ronaldo said he hopes the Covid scare will go away by next year. Real Madrid named club of the century and Pep Guardiola named coach of the century .
Bayern Munich’s Polish striker Robert Lewandowski was named Player of the Year last year. Lewandowski, who scored 55 goals in 47 appearances for Bayern, won the FIFA World Player of the Year award last week. Bayern won the award for best team of the season.
Former Spanish goalkeeper Iker Casillas and defender Gerard Pique have also won numerous awards.
