Customs and Garda seized over €7 million worth of cannabis from a shipment container

Revenue customs officers and Garda arrested three men earlier today and seized over €7 million worth of cannabis.

The arrest was done through a joint operation by the Garda and Revenue department. They seized 352kg of herbal cannabis, which is expected to be having the value of €7 million or more.

The drugs came all the way from Spain through Dublin port. Searches are continuing throughout the afternoon and investigations are ongoing. 

Gardai arrested three men with relation to seizure of cannabis and they are currently taken to custody under the provisions Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking Act) 1996 at garda stations in Dublin. 

The operation was a part of an investigation carried out by the two groups together, which targets crime groups and their illegal activities.
