Delhi beats Kolkata by 18 runs

In the second match of the weekend, Delhi Capitals marked their third win of the season by defeating the Kolkata Knight Riders by 18 runs.

By batting first DC managed to host a total of 228 for four at the Sharjah Cricket stadium.

Captain Shreyas Iyer was the man of the match for his wonderful half century. Iyer scored 88 runs of 38 balls and his innings consists of seven fours and six maximums.

Prithvi Shaw (66), Shikar Dhawan (26) and Rishabh Pant (38) were the other scorers for DC.

Andre Russell managed to pick two wickets for 29 runs in his four overs and the mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy picked up one wicket for the KKR.

By chasing a mammoth target of 228, KKR’s run ended up with 210 for 8.

Opener Sunil Narine again failed to score big and lost his wicket for just three runs.

KKR never gave up the fighting spirit, in a small stadium like Sharjah, 228 was a chase able target for them, but the DC bowlers managed to pick wickets at regular intervals.

Nitish Rana was the top scorer for the KKR, he sored 58 runs of 35 balls. Gill (28), Russell (13), Morgan (44) and Rahul Tripathi (36) were the other scorers for KKR.

Though Morgan and Thripathi tried to score hard, the DC bowlers had the last laugh.

Anrich Nortje picked three wickets for 33 runs and Harshal Patel picked two. Rabada, Stoinis and Amit Mishra managed to pick one wicket each.
