Did Tesco actually cut prices? And that of 700 products?

Dublin: Finance Minister Michael McGrath said that Tesco’s move to reduce the price of consumer goods will be a turning point in Ireland’s business sector.

According to the minister, Tesco’s lower prices will benefit the public because other retailers are expected to follow suit. People are price sensitive and will take advantage of good deals when they shop, he added.

Tesco Ireland announced yesterday that it will reduce the prices of over 700 items.

Grocery prices have been steadily rising since the beginning of last year. Tesco has recently reduced the prices of some essential items such as milk, butter, and bread. Tesco has announced an average 10% price on over 700 products in its stores, ranging from food to household and beauty items.

The reduced prices include Tesco-branded pizza, Pampers nappies, Tesco toilet paper, Tesco sweet potato oven chips, and Fred & Flo cotton wool pads.

Tesco has published a list of price cut items on their website, which can be found at https://www.tesco.ie/groceries/zone/price-cuts/.
