Digital Obesity Clinic Beyondbmi Secures €1 Million in Seed Funding Round Led by Private Investors and Enterprise Ireland

Beyondbmi, a digital obesity clinic with a medical focus, has successfully concluded a €1 million seed funding round, led by private investors in collaboration with Enterprise Ireland. The Dublin-based spin-out from University College Dublin (UCD), headquartered at NovaUCD, specialises in addressing obesity through personalised medical interventions, community support, and advanced technology. Having raised over €1.5 million this year, the funds from this round will be directed towards enhancing and expanding their services.

Beyondbmi aims to invest in its mobile app, recruit additional staff, and grow its expert clinician team by bringing in more specialists. Dr. Harriet Treacy, CEO of Beyondbmi, emphasised the company’s broader mission beyond weight loss, focusing on the significant health improvements experienced by clients. The funding will also support the company’s expansion into the UK in the coming year. The seed funding round received support from a mix of new and existing investors, including prominent names such as Mick Slein, Chairman of Robus, David O’Reilly, and John Purdy, Chairman of Ergo and Beyondbmi.
