Dublin becomes 11th most costly European city to live in

Dublin has now became the 11th most costly European city to live in according to the latest figures.

Ireland had moved up the rankings of expensive cities and now reached the 11th position.

Compared to last year, Dublin is up one place to 11th in Europe and globally it has became 37th city. Last year it was 43rd.

The most expensive in Europe is Geneva, while London is third, Paris eighth and Luxembourg City tenth with the rest of the top ten being Scandinavian and other Swiss cities.

The survey found that the collapse in tourism has meant cheaper rents in cities such as Reykjavik, which Dublin has overtaken in the rankings.

Globally Hong Kong is the most expensive city followed by Tokyo and New York, though the report found that lower oil prices had also lowered the cost of living.
