Dublin: The Halloween festivities across Ireland brought a night of chaos for emergency services, with dozens of fire-related incidents reported throughout Dublin. Fireworks, bonfires, and bin fires kept the Dublin Fire Brigade (DFB) on constant alert as crews responded to multiple emergencies across the city.
The fire service said it faced a flood of back-to-back calls, stretching resources as firefighters attended incidents in several neighbourhoods. In Kilbarrack, a fire engine was delayed en route to a call due to illegally parked vehicles blocking access, forcing crews to take an alternative route.
The Dublin Fire Brigade has since urged the public to remain vigilant and to avoid actions that could endanger lives or property.
“Every second counts in an emergency,” the brigade stressed, reminding residents that illegal parking can seriously delay response times during critical incidents.
Authorities also raised concerns over the open sale and use of illegal fireworks across Dublin. The DFB warned that fireworks pose severe fire hazards and can cause life-threatening injuries, particularly to children.
Residents have been asked to report illegal bonfires, fireworks, or any unsafe activities to Gardaí or emergency services immediately. The Dublin Fire Brigade also appealed to the public to keep roads clear for emergency vehicles and to celebrate Halloween responsibly to prevent further accidents or injuries.
