Electric Ireland again offers concessions to customers who can’t pay their electricity bills

DUBLIN: Electric Ireland is once again offering concessions to customers who do not pay their electricity bills. Electric Ireland has extended its disconnection moratorium until the end of June. The company also said it would not cut services for residential customers who could not pay their bills. The company introduced the moratorium last October.

“We are acutely aware of the challenges that some customers will experience now with the continuation of Level 5 restrictions,” said Marguerite Sayers, Executive Director.

Electric Ireland has requested customers who are having financial difficulties to contact them in order to discuss a payment plan. “We want to ensure those customers will be protected and have peace of mind as we all deal with the challenges of on-going restrictions,” Executive Director said.

The company said it expects customers to benefit from these concessions until the COVID-19 restrictions are eased.
