Electric Ireland Announces Third Price Cut in 12 Months for 1.1 Million Residential Customers, Effective November 1

Dublin: Electric Ireland has announced its third price cut in the past year, benefiting 1.1 million residential electricity and gas customers. Starting on 1 November, electricity unit rates will drop by 3% for all customers and 5% for those on smart meter plans. Gas unit rates will also decrease by 3%. These reductions will save dual fuel customers an average of €85 annually, while smart meter users will see savings between €64 and €75, depending on their plan. Despite increased network charges announced by the Commission for Regulation of Utilities (CRU), Electric Ireland will not pass these costs onto its customers. Since last November, the company has reduced electricity and gas prices by 19.3% and 20.4%, respectively.
