Embassy of India, Dublin under India – Ireland Friendship Lecture series: “Relevance of Vedanta for Contemporary World” on June 30

Under “India-Ireland Friendship Lecture Series”, Mr. Nithin Sridhar, Director & Chief Curator of INDICA, Center for Moksha Studies (Advaita Academy) will speak on “Relevance of Vedanta for Contemporary World” along with an introductory address by Ambassador Akhilesh Mishra.

Mr. Nithin Sridhar holds a Civil Engineering degree. After working in the construction industry for a while, he began writing on social issues, development, politics, religion, spirituality, and ecology.

“Musings On Hinduism,” his first book, presented an overview of several aspects of Hindu philosophy and society. His book ‘Samanya Dharma’ enunciates upon general tenets of ethics as available in Hindu texts.

His most recent book, ‘Isopanishad: An English Commentary,’ is an English translation and commentary on a well-known Hindu text. His most frequently read book, however, is “Menstruation Across Cultures: A Historical Perspective,” which examines menstruation notions and practises in many cultures and faiths throughout the world.

He is the Chief Curator of the Advaita Academy, dedicated to the dissemination of Advaita Vedanta. He formerly worked as the Editor of IndiaFacts, a portal dedicated to Indian history and culture. He is based in Mysuru, Karnataka.
