England in extreme cold: Minus 15 degrees Celsius!

LONDON: In England, Wales and parts of North Yorkshire, the temperature dropped to minus 15 degrees Celsius last night.

The temperature in Ravensworth, North Yorkshire, dropped to minus 15.3 degrees Celsius overnight. The previous low temperature was recorded at minus 13.1 degrees on Wednesday night. Scotland, meanwhile, recorded a low of minus 15.4 degrees Celsius in Kinbrace, Sutherland.

The meteorological department has warned that the cold weather will continue in the coming days. Wednesday night recorded the lowest temperature in 65 years in the UK.

Meanwhile, meteorologist Marco Petagna said winds of up to 50 mph across the Irish Sea would reach Scotland. Strong winds blowing across the western islands of Scotland will also cause strong winds to be felt across the UK. He added that heavy snowfall would make life miserable for the people.

In addition, the Met Office has issued a yellow alert for heavy snowfall in northeastern England, central, northeastern Scotland and parts of southwestern England.
