ESB to recruit 1,000 people to help achieve net zero carbon emissions

DUBLIN: ESB is recruiting 1,000 people as part of Ireland’s progress towards Net Zero Strategy over the next three years.

Sinead Kilkelly, executive director, People and Organization at ESB, explained the upcoming changes and new recruitment. He said the ESB envisages zero carbon emissions by 2040.

The new roles include offshore wind operators, hydrology scientists, geotechnical, AI and cyber specialists.

ESB is recruiting for the following roles:

IT – Cyber specialists, Data Scientists and AI, Digital and Cloud specialists, project management

Engineering – Offshore wind, renewables, network planning, asset development, environmental, civil, electrical and mechanical and environment (marine biologists and geologists, geotechnical roles and hydrology scientists)

HR and Commercial – Procurement, Financial Accountants, Commercial Analysts, Trading, Human Resources and Customer Service

Graduates, Trainees and Apprentices – Graduate Development programme, ESB Networks apprentice programme, Trainee and Apprentice roles in Finance, IT, HR, Engineering, Commercial.
