DUBLIN: There are signs that European allies are openly preparing to wage war against Russia. In November, the EU will launch a training mission for the Ukrainian armed forces.
Ireland will participate, according to Foreign Minister Simon Coveney, and the training mission will begin in mid-November.
US with more accusations
The US has warned that under “new circumstances,” Russia will be held accountable for war crimes. Ireland’s mission
Irish Foreign Minister Simon Coveney has hinted that Ireland will provide specialised training on IEDs and mine clearance. The government spokesman insisted that no list has been established and that aid will be provided as Ukraine requests.
At a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Luxembourg, Ireland also agreed to participate in a training mission in Poland and Germany that will train approximately 15,000 Ukrainian troops over a two-year period.
The European Union is attempting to train and prepare the Ukrainian army to improve their skills.
“Unfortunately, thousands of landmines have been planted across Ukraine, and Ireland will assist in training the Ukrainian military to safely confront Russia, thereby preventing horrific injuries to many civilians and military personnel,” he said.

At the meeting, EU foreign ministers also agreed to allocate an additional €500 million from the European Peace Facility (EPF) to help Ukraine receive more weapons. This brings the total military assistance provided by Member State Funds to €3.1 billion.
