Washington: President-elect Joe Biden has said he will ask the American people to wear masks for 100 days.
Biden said the mask would be mandatory in administrative centers and on domestic public transportation. Biden hinted that his approach to the Covid issue would be completely different from that of Donald Trump.
Just wear a mask for 100 days, not all the time. We can see the obvious change, Biden said in an exclusive interview with CNN.
Biden also noted the growing number of Covid cases in the country. Trump’s election setback was a mistake in handling the Covid issue.
Biden said he had asked Dr. Anthony Fossie to remain as an infectious disease expert. He added that Dr. Anthony Fossie would be given more power in the administration so that he could take matters related to the health sector directly to the President.
Biden said Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama would follow in the footsteps of his three previous presidents in the case of Covid vaccine.
Biden said that people have lost faith in the effectiveness of the vaccine and need to be made aware of the importance of the vaccine for their safety. The actions of the president and vice president are very important in this context, Biden said.
