EY Announces Ambitious Expansion Plans with 1,000 New Jobs in Northern Ireland

EY, a renowned professional services company, has unveiled its strategic initiative to create an additional 1,000 job opportunities in Northern Ireland. This substantial expansion will substantially augment their workforce in the region, bringing it to nearly 2,000 employees.

With the invaluable support and collaboration of Invest Northern Ireland and the Department for the Economy, EY is concentrating a significant portion of these new positions in Belfast. Simultaneously, they are establishing a novel North-West hub to facilitate recruitment efforts across the broader region.

These upcoming roles will encompass a diverse array of domains, spanning cybersecurity, data analytics, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence. EY also plans to recruit for roles in accountancy, encompassing risk assessment, tax consultancy, audit, and business advisory services. The recruitment drive will encompass a mix of candidates, including experienced professionals, recent graduates, and school leavers.

In order to ensure a consistent supply of well-qualified personnel, EY is launching an Assured Skills Academy Programme, backed by funding from the Department for the Economy. This pre-employment training programme will centre on data and analytics, offering participants valuable Microsoft credentials. The inaugural programme is set to commence on September 25th at Belfast Metropolitan College, with participants gaining the opportunity to interview for EY consultant positions as early as December 2023.
