Dublin: In a significant development, two medical professionals in Dublin have been arrested by the Gardaí following allegations of defrauding the Health Service Executive (HSE). The arrests stem from a complaint asserting substantial losses to the government exchequer and the HSE, marking a case under the purview of the Garda National Economic Crime Bureau. The fraudulent activities are reported to have occurred between 2017 and 2019.
The two individuals, both aged between 40 and 50, face charges under Section 71 of the Criminal Justice Act 2006. Currently held in custody at South Dublin Garda Station, the arrested doctors await further legal proceedings in connection with the alleged financial malfeasance.
