Five Foreigners Arrested in Dublin Despite Deportation Orders

Dublin: Five individuals who remained in Ireland despite deportation orders have been apprehended by the Garda in Dublin. They are currently in Garda custody following their arrest in the Dublin area as part of Operation Fern, a collaborative effort between the Garda National Immigration Bureau (GNIB) and local Dublin Gardaí.

Operation Fern was initiated by GNIB to locate and detain individuals who have defied deportation orders to leave the country.

Detective Chief Superintendent Aidan Minnock emphasised that each arrested individual will be given the opportunity to voluntarily return to their home country. He underscored that remaining in Ireland after being ordered to leave is illegal unless done so voluntarily.
