Fraud of an Indian company by offering jobs in Ireland; Keralites are among those who have been deceived

DUBLIN: Fraud of an Indian company by offering jobs in Ireland. Twenty health workers have already lodged a complaint with the Bengaluru police and Protector of Emigrants (POE) alleging that a Bengaluru-based consultancy firm cheated them into helping health professionals, including doctors, get jobs abroad.

Most of the victims are from Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Maharashtra. Various police stations have registered a case against Sendhil Siddthan, director of Bioplannet India Pvt Ltd, based in Koramangala. According to Protector of Emigrants (POE), more than Rs 1 crore is believed to have been embezzled. A POE official said they had received complaints from a number of people.

The officer said they were evaluating the complaint of Gujarat-based orthopaedic surgeon Bhuvanesh Chaturvedi. He paid Sendhil Rs 4.7 lakh twice in 2018 to get a job in Ireland. Finally, Mr. Chaturvedi realised that he had been deceived.

“Sendhil lured me by saying he will get me a licence to practise in Ireland and sought all the necessary documents. But when I went back to his office in HSR Layout, I discovered he had shifted to Koramangala. I have registered a complaint but no action has been taken,” Chaturvedi said.

Sendhil has been summoned by the POE and HSR Layout police, but is yet to show up. HSR Layout police said that his mobile number was also changed.

Sendhil, on the other hand, denied the allegations. He claims that he is only helping people to register with the relevant authority to carry out health care activities in Ireland. “We assist them with immigration, but don’t do it,” Sendhil said.

“The countries where these people had applied have not accepted their applications and will be refunding the money. As soon as they do, we will give it back to the clients. I will appear before POE with the responses I have received from foreign agencies, he explained.”
