Galway’s most tragic and darkest nights as three men died

Galway: Three youths die after a car plunges into a river. Three youngsters were dead when their car spun out of control and crashed into the Corrib River.

The young man was taken to the University Hospital in Galway but could not be saved.

According to Garda, they received reports of a car in the water at Menlo Pier on the city’s outskirts early yesterday morning. The three youngsters in the car were pulled from the water and taken to University Hospital.

Two teenagers’ deaths were confirmed early yesterday morning. The third was confirmed yesterday afternoon. Wojcieck Panek (17), John Keenan (16), and Christopher Stokes (19) all died.

The shock of the accident has not left the local people. Padraic O’Fattai, a local, said, “I came down after hearing a loud noise and saw a black car lying upside down in the river.”
