Game of Throne fame Diana Rigg died at 82

Famous British actress Diana Rigg has died of cancer at the age of 82. Diana was known for her fantastic performance as Olena Tyrell in the global TV series’ Game of Thrones.’  

Rachael Stirling, daughter of Diana Rigg said in a statement, “My Beloved Ma died peacefully in her sleep early this morning, at home, surrounded by family”.

She also said that Diana died of cancer diagnosed in March, and spent her last month joyfully reflecting on her extraordinary life, ftill of love, laughter and a deep pride in her profession. “I will miss her beyond words,” she added.

She played the role of Tracy, James Bond’s wife, in One Her Majesty’s Secret Service (1969). She was also a wonderful drama artist and it was drama that paved way for her into the film world.

Diana is best known for her role as Emma Peel, a secret agent in the TV series The Avengers in the 1960s.

She was born on 1938 in Doncaster, England and was introduced in 1959 by the Royal Shakespeare Company. The role of Cordelia in King Lear was one of her memorable performance, which fetched her a lot of fans.
