Garda tightened vehicle inspection; several vehicles that tried to exit Dublin were blocked

Garda intensifies vehicle inspection in Dublin. They has blocked a number of vehicles that were trying to leave Dublin in breach of the rules. Travel outside Dublin is not permitted.

Garda stopped several motorists at the Naas Road border checkpoint in Kildare.

Garda said vehicles would be allowed to leave Dublin only in absolutely unavoidable circumstances. A Garda spokesman said the majority of drivers were making unnecessary trips.

This does not cause any inconvenience to people, as garda allows them to return without the vehicle being taken into custody.

Meanwhile, two people were arrested by the garda for drug driving. One was arrested for breaking a red light while driving and another for using cocaine.

Four vehicles were seized for not having insurance, for tax papers, and even for driving without a license.
