About the Artist
Rishab Rikhiram Sharma is a sitar virtuoso, music producer, and passionate mental health advocate. Hailing from Delhi’s renowned Rikhi Ram family of instrument makers, Rishab began his musical journey at the age of 10 under the mentorship of his father, Sanjay Sharma. His extraordinary talent led to a rare and prestigious opportunity to become the youngest—and final—disciple of legendary maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar.
Rishab has since gained international acclaim, becoming the first sitarist ever to perform solo at the White House Diwali celebration at the invitation of President Joe Biden. His performances have reached global audiences, including a landmark appearance before 60,000 attendees at Houston’s NRG Stadium, with over 500 million viewers tuning in worldwide.
In 2020, he founded the Sitar for Mental Health initiative—an innovative programme combining Indian classical music with sound therapy to foster emotional well-being. This immersive musical experience now makes its Dublin debut in a one-night-only event.
