Go Ahead Ireland, has announced a two-day bus strike

Dublin: Go Ahead Ireland, a private bus operator, has announced a two-day bus strike. The SIPTU trade union has declared a two-day strike over unpaid wages. Go Ahead Ireland, like Dublin Bus, operates a number of major routes in Dublin.

SIPTU has decided to strike on March 1 and 8 at the company’s depots in Ballymount and Dublin. The organisation has informed  that it is entering this strike because the discussion regarding a salary increase has not reached a decision. As per SIPTU, the issue can be resolved through further discussion.

Meanwhile, the union sector organiser claims that the dispute with Go Ahead reached court, but the company’s representatives did not appear. On February 3rd, Go Ahead Company stated in a statement that they had informed the reasons in writing to the workers’ relation and that they are interested in discussing and reconciling the matter with everyone.
