Dublin: After a brief respite, Ireland is bracing for rainy days ahead as the Meteorological Service (Met) has issued a yellow warning for heavy rain in Dublin, Louth, Meath, and Wicklow.
The alert will be in effect from 10 p.m. tonight until 6 a.m. on Saturday, with forecasts indicating persistent heavy rain throughout the weekend. Localised flooding is possible, particularly in these counties, with periods of very heavy rainfall expected.
While the morning may start dry, showers will gradually move in from the west, intensifying into the afternoon with potential thunderstorms and flash floods, according to the latest forecasts.
Conditions are expected to worsen overnight, especially in northern and eastern areas, prompting caution against flooding risks through Saturday morning in the eastern regions.
Rainfall is anticipated to spread across the north and west by Saturday afternoon and evening, persisting into Saturday night. Similar weather patterns are predicted for Sunday morning, with heavier rainfall likely in the northern regions, tapering off by Sunday night.
On Monday morning, rain is expected to return from the south, with possible showers in the north later in the day, as indicated by the Met Office.
