Dublin: Vehicle owners and drivers in Ireland will face increased toll rates starting January 1, 2025. Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) has announced that the revised rates are expected to contribute 45% of the budget allocated for road protection and renewal.
Key toll increases will apply to the Dublin Port Tunnel and certain M50 tolls, with rates expected to rise by 10 to 20 cents. Notably, the toll for heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) entering Dublin Port through the Dublin Port Tunnel will increase by €1, bringing the new total to €13. Buses, coaches, and heavy vehicles will see a 10-cent increase in toll charges, though car users will be exempt from this hike.
On the M4 (Kilcock to Kinnegad), all road users will experience a 10-cent increase in tolls, while HGVs will face a 20-cent increase.
Payment Options for Toll Charges
Toll payments can be made in several ways to ensure convenience and avoid travel disruptions:
- E-Toll Tag: Allows users to pay electronically without stopping their journey.
- Online Payment: Drivers without an e-toll account can pay their M50 tolls online.
- Payzone Outlets: Toll payments can be made at any Payzone outlet nationwide.
- Phone Payment: Drivers can call 0818 50 10 50 to settle their toll charges.
To avoid penalties, tolls must be paid by 8 PM the day after using the road. Failure to meet the deadline will result in additional fines.
