Holi has arrived in Ireland too….. With vibrant colours everywhere….

Dublin: The Indian community spread the vibrant message of Holi throughout Ireland. Yesterday, communities, universities, and colleges in Cork and Dublin were in a festive mood.

Many locals attended the celebrations held on the Trinity College campus.

Indian Ladies in Ireland, the organisers, stated that the Holi celebrations in Ireland on the actual day of Holi were also organised to promote Indian culture and talent through the Holi celebrations in Raheny, North Dublin.

The first Holi celebration in North Dublin was a huge success. Ruth Prithika, a Bharatnatyam dancer, performed a beautiful classical dance performance for the guests. Fine Gael’s Richard Bruton, TD, also attended the celebrations, recalling his first trip to India in 1977.

All the top numbers from Bollywood were danced with colours on the dance floor as the DJ. The celebration progressed by immersing everyone in a rainbow of colours. Holi became “jolly” in every sense when these were accompanied by delicious Indian food.

Supriya Singh, founder of Indian Ladies in Ireland, said that on the occasion of International Women’s Day, there was an opportunity for women entrepreneurs to promote their businesses.
