Hospital Staff Accused of Criminal Negligence in the Death of Four-Year-Old Indian Girl, Ahana Singh

Dublin: Allegations of medical negligence have surfaced following the tragic death of four-year-old Ahana Singh at Temple Street Hospital on December 3, 2022. The young girl had recently arrived in Dublin from India with her parents, Varun and Nalini Singh, just two months prior.

Ahana’s parents rushed her to the hospital the day before her demise, reporting nose and mouth bleeding along with vomiting during the journey. Despite initial tests, she was prescribed medication and discharged early the next morning, with doctors attributing her symptoms to a common fever and a minor chest infection expected to resolve over time.

Upon returning home, Ahana’s condition rapidly deteriorated, leading to unconsciousness. Despite attempts at CPR, she tragically passed away. An investigation was initiated following a complaint by the grieving parents, and hospital authorities have since acknowledged lapses in Ahana’s care.

Subsequent reviews disclosed that Ahana had been suffering from an extended strep A infection, resulting in lung disease and sepsis. Disturbingly, doctors have now admitted to criminal negligence in Ahana Singh’s death, with an ongoing investigation seeking further evidence to establish the full extent of the tragedy.
