Dublin: The Irish government has taken a different stance on the national plan to address the housing crisis. Separate remarks were made by the deputy prime minister and the housing minister. The Prime Minister also spoke in the tone of the Home Minister.
According to Deputy Prime Minister Leo Varadkar, the housing scheme’s target for next year is in jeopardy. Varadkar stated that delivering more than 30,000 houses under the “Housing for All” scheme by 2023 will be a challenge. Housing Minister Darragh O’Brien, on the other hand, dismissed it. Despite numerous challenges, the minister stated that the government will meet the target. The minister said that there is a plan for it.
Speaking at the official sod-turning of Ireland’s largest affordable housing project, Dunlarry Shanganagh, the Housing Minister “pushed” the Deputy Prime Minister. He stated that the government’s goal of building 24,600 new homes this year will be met. There are many challenges, including those related to Ukraine and supply chain issues. The government housing project, on the other hand, will meet its target. Prime Minister Martin also said that the target would be achieved.
