Human Rights Day – December 10, 2022

Human Rights Day, observed on December 10, marks the day in 1948 when the United Nations General Assembly enacted and proclaimed the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It is the most translated document in the world, with over 500 translations. It has influenced governments and individuals to recognise that everyone has the right to life, liberty, property, and the pursuit of happiness. The goal of the Declaration of Human Rights is to establish a common level of living for all people on the planet that everyone is entitled to and to urge all UN member states to strive for the same quality of living for their people.

The 2022 Theme of Human Rights Day is Dignity, Freedom, and Justice for All.

On Human Rights Day, we recognise the relevance of this document and the value of human rights.
