India Advises Citizens in Kenya to Limit Movement Amid Violent Protests Over Proposed Tax Hikes

India has issued a cautionary advisory to its citizens in Kenya, urging them to exercise extreme caution and limit non-essential movements amid violent protests against the government’s proposed tax hikes. The Indian consulate in Kenya shared this advisory on social media platform X, advising citizens to avoid areas affected by protests and violence until the situation stabilizes. They also recommended staying updated through local news, the mission’s website, and social media channels. The unrest in Nairobi has resulted in at least five protestors being shot dead and over 200 injured, as police used tear gas and live rounds after thousands stormed Parliament and set part of it on fire.
