India has issued a fresh travel advisory for its citizens, urging them to leave Ukraine “at the earliest”

The Indian Embassy in Ukraine has released a statement requesting that Indian citizens refrain from travelling to Ukraine. The warning was made in response to Russia’s escalating hostility against the East European country.

“Indian people are advised not to travel to Ukraine due to the deteriorating security situation and recent escalation of violence across the country.” “Indian citizens, especially students, in Ukraine are advised to leave Ukraine as soon as possible,” the statement said.

This is India’s second notice since October 11, when Russia unleashed the most comprehensive missile bombardment on the Ukrainian capital since the war began on February 24. The Indian government voiced “deep concern,” indicating a new phase of attrition in the almost eight-month-long war.

This comes as Russian President Vladimir Putin imposed martial rule in the four areas of Ukraine that Moscow has annexed and granted emergency powers to all regional governors in Russia, paving the way for broad new restrictions across the nation.

India carried out “Operation Ganga” to evacuate nearly 20,000 nationals who were in Ukraine in the early phase of the war. According to diplomatic sources, over 500 Indians remain in Ukraine because they have “residency permits” for professional or familial reasons.
