India storm back into the T20 series with a 7-wicket win against England

With the fearless batting of debutant Ishan Kishan and Captain Virat Kohli, India won the 2nd T20 match of the five match series against England. The series now stands at 1-1 with three game to go.

If England dominated all three categories in the first match on Friday, it was India who dominated from start to finish yesterday, despite the wicket-maiden first over.

After winning the toss, Indian skipper Virat Kohli choose to field first. It was Bhuvneshwar Kumar who opened the bowling attack and took the wicket of Jos Buttler in the very first over of the innings.

Except Jason Roy (46), all the English batsmen failed to score big runs. England were all out for 164-6 in 20 overs. Washington Sundar and Shardul Thakur picked up two wickets each while Yuzvendra Chahal and Bhuvi took one.

All eyes were on Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav as they made their international debut yesterday. But unfortunately, Indian fans could not see Surya’s batting because Ishan and Kohli easily took the game away from the visitors with their brilliant half century knock.

However, it was a shocking first over for India, and especially for KL Rahul, as he departed without scoring any runs in six balls. After that, India needed someone to accelerate the scoreboard and restore confidence to the hosts.

Playing his first international game, Ishan Kishan slammed a 32-ball 56 and gave what his team wanted. The young man got plenty of support from skipper Virat Kohli, who scored 73 runs of 49 deliveries.

Rishabh Pant, who came after Ishan’s dismissal, struck at 200 and scored 26 out of just 13 balls. It was a great feast for cricket lovers to see chase master Virat Kohli return to form after a long time. The ‘King’ Kohli finished the game in style by hitting the last balls for six.

The next match will be at the same venue, Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad at 7 pm (Indian time) tomorrow (Tuesday).
