Indian community in Ireland will gather tomorrow and Wednesday to pay respects to Jisha Susan John, who died in Dublin

DUBLIN: The Indian community in Ireland will pay their last respects tomorrow (Tuesday) and Wednesday to Jisha Susan John, a staff nurse at Dublin National Forensic Hospital who died on July 23.

Mass will be offered at St. Gregorios Jacobite Church in Smithfield, Dublin, tomorrow, July 27th, at 8:30 am. The next phase of the funeral service will begin at 10:30 am.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the funeral rites and Holy Qurbana in the church are not open to the public. All services and Mass will be live streamed.

Jisha’s body will be placed for public viewing at the Funeral Home (ROM MASSEY AND SONS FUNERAL DIRECTORS) opposite the University College Dublin (UCD) at N 11 on Tuesday from 1pm to 7pm and Wednesday from 10am to 7pm. The public can pay their respects to Jisha from here.

Jisha’s body will be flown to India on Thursday. Her funeral would take place later in her hometown Palakuzha, a village in Kerala.

Jisha’s husband Rajish Paul is a family member of Koothattukulam Palakuzha Olikkal Puthenpura. They lived in Blackrock Cornell Scott, Dublin (St. Gabriel Apartment).

Jisha John is the daughter of Thiruvananthapuram Tirumala Tennadi Navmandiram John Philippos and Mariamaa. Siblings: Jomu Philip John (Thiruvananthapuram), Dr. Jinu Sarah John (Muscat).
