International Men’s Day – November 19, 2022

Every year on November 19, the world celebrates International Men’s Day. The theme for 2022, according to Internationalmensday.com, is “Helping Men and Boys”. The day celebrates the men in our lives and the cultural, political, and social contributions they make to our society. It also recognises the good contributions men make to the world, their families, and communities and encourages them to be great role models. Thomas Oaster founded it in February 1992. On November 19, 1999, Dr. Jerome Teelucksingh, a history instructor at the University of the West Indies in Trinidad and Tobago, created the International Men’s Day project.

International Men’s Day’s objectives include an emphasis on men’s and boys’ health, strengthening gender relations, supporting gender equality, and showcasing positive male role models. It is also encouraged that men use this occasion to expose prejudice against them and to recognise their positive accomplishments and contributions to communities, workplaces, friendships, families, marriages, and child care.

Wishing all the men, “Happy Men’s Day”!
