Ireland: A general election may be held early says reports

Dublin: There are reports that elections are likely to be held before the end of the government’s term in Ireland.

According to some media outlets, the government intends to hold general elections on November 24, following the presentation of the budget in October.

This is also coming out of the disagreements in the current coalition government. The Fianna fail of Michael Martin, who lost the position of Prime Minister, and the new leadership of Leo Varadkar of Fine Gael, political sources indicate that there is a sign that the adherence to the new leadership has no lifespan.

A few Green Party TDs have stated that they will vote against the bill to evict tenants with expired leases, which will also weaken the government. If Sinn Féin wins or performs better in the European Parliament and regional elections in 2024, it may have an impact on the next parliamentary elections. That is why, after dealing with any crises until the 2023 budget, Leo Varadkar wants to hold elections in November.
